The City of Riverside Fire Department will begin hydrant flushing on May 1, 2020 and continue until approximately June 7, 2020. Between the hours of 8 am – 6 pm, crews will be out checking hydrants in various areas while practicing safe social distancing.
Discoloration of water may occur as a result of the flushing. Residents should run water until it is clear. If fire crews are flushing hydrants in the area, residents should refrain from doing laundry or washing dishes for a brief period.
Since the firefighters are still in service and taking calls during this time, there is not a set schedule for which areas are serviced on which day. Crews from Station No. 5 handle the north section of Riverside while crews from Station No. 6 handle the south areas of Riverside.
Any questions regarding hydrant flushing can be responded to by calling 233-1801.
