May 3, 2021

The City of Riverside has received two Buy Recycle Grants from the Montgomery County Solid Waste District (MCSWD). These grants cover two-thirds of the cost of each project. The first grant is for a new play structure in Drennen Park. The cost of this play structure is $29,947 with the MCSWD paying $20,962.90. This play structure is over 15 years old. It is showing significant signs of wear and is beyond its useful life. The second grant is for the replacement of school signage throughout the City. This will include replacing all school signs with new fluorescent yellow/green signs at each of Riverside’s 11 schools. The cost of the signs is $9764.60 with the MCSWD paying $6835.22. These items must be ordered and installed. Expect to see them by September.
