FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC

The City of Riverside is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of full-time firefighter/paramedic with the forecast of one hire in the near future.

A City of Riverside Firefighter/Paramedic must be willing to work as part of a team and build professional relationships with staff, colleagues, co-workers, elected officials, community leaders, and citizens.  This position requires a physically fit professional who has a passion to provide efficient professional Fire/EMS services with outstanding communication and leadership skills.

The pay range for the position is $52,416.00-$68,723.20.  The Firefighter/Paramedic works a 24/48 schedule as subject to current union contract.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have State of Ohio EMT-P, a current State of Ohio Level II Firefighter Certification, Hazardous Material Operations Certificate, and a valid Ohio Driver’s License at the time of appointment.  The candidate selected for hire must obtain a State of Ohio Fire Safety Inspector Certification within 12 months of their start date in order to successfully complete their probationary period.  All certifications must be maintained during employment.

Lateral Entry: Candidates presently working as a full-time firefighter-paramedic may be considered for a lateral entry pay range and vacation accrual credit with prior government service.

Examination Process: A National Testing Network (NTN) exam must be completed by February 28, 2019. https://www.nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/ Applicants will be processed for further testing from this list.  Such examinations may include, but not limited to: physical fitness examination, medical examination including drug screen, psychological and/or psychiatric examination, CVT testing, background investigation, personality assessment and personal interviews.  The duration of the list will be six months, with possible extension to twelve months, or until exhausted.

PART-TIME FIREFIGHTER

The City of Riverside is accepting applications for Part-time Firefighter. Under general direction, performs specialized work with regard to protecting life and property through fire suppression, fire prevention and emergency medical services and may assist with fire inspection and code enforcement duties related to the position of Fire Inspector. Minimum qualifications include Ohio certificate for EMT-Basic and Firefighter I, Current Ohio Driver’s license, NIMS 100 and 700. Pay Range is $8.27  – $16.00 / hour.  Applicant must be agreeable to work 24 hours every 6th day. HOW TO APPLY

The City of Riverside, Ohio Police Department is accepting applications for Lateral Police Officer.

This position is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances set by the State of Ohio and City of Riverside. Work involves prevention, detection and investigation of accident and criminal activities, security and safety of prisoners, protection for the public and maintaining law and order. Officers must be able to act without direct supervision in emergency situations.

Qualified applicants must be least 21 years of age (at time of appointment), OPOTC certified and have at least one year of service in the Ohio Police and Fire Pension System.  She/he must also demonstrate excellent work history and a passion for community involvement. All applicants must undergo polygraph, drug screen, background investigation and physical fitness testing.  Minimum starting pay is 26.77 per hour and could increase based off of work experience.
