The Charter of the City of Riverside, Section 13.04, states that every five years City Council shall appoint a Commission of nine electors of the municipality to review the existing Charter and make recommendations for revisions to City Council. The Charter was last reviewed in 2014.

The Charter Review Commission will work with the City’s Legal Counsel and the Clerk of Council to prepare and present a report to City Council by their last meeting in May 2019. At that time Council will review and take action as it deems warranted to cause amendments to be placed on the ballot on November 2019.

Any Riverside resident who is registered to vote and would like to volunteer to be a part of this important process, please submit a Boards and Commissions application which is available online or submit your letter of interest to the Clerk of Council at councilclerk@riversideoh.gov.
